THIS COURSE SUCCESSFULLY MEETS THE ANATOMY PRE-REQUSITE FOR THE BALANCED BODY PILATES COURSES.
It is also highly recommended prior to Anatomy in 3D, any of the Essential Somatic Courses if no previous Anatomy background is held and for anyone interested in movement science
This 2-day workshop provides an overview of the systems of the body and introduces us to major muscles, bones and joints. The human body is intricate and this workshop shows, in understandable terms, how our bodies work to create movement.
A mixture of theoretical, practical and functional application of anatomy will be included and the workshop will be taught by chartered physiotherapist Jenny Alexanders MSc, MCSP, FHEA.
This workshop is appropriate for anyone who is simply interested in anatomy or fitness professionals and trainees such as gym instructors, personal trainers, Pilates teachers, or other movement science disciplines such as yoga and somatics.
Introduction to the Skeletal System
- Bony landmarks
- Joint types
- Structure of bone etc.
Introduction to the Muscular System
- Muscle structure
- Origin and insertions of common muscle groups
- The spine
- Upper and lower limb joints
Workshop Fee: £200.00 (includes materials)
Registration due January 16th 2018
Included in the workshop will be a comprehensive workbook, anatomy text-book and anatomy related journals. A certificate of attendance will be awarded upon completion.
Cancellation Policy: Greater than 2 weeks written cancellation 100% of workshop fee less a £35.00 administration fee. Less than two weeks written cancellation, 50% of the workshop fee less £35.00 administration fee. Cancellation on the day, no refund.
